BAY AREA! I’m coming home.

What are you burning for? What's burning you out? And what does yoga actually say about the difference?

Tapas is one of yoga's core niyamas, often translated as discipline or heat. But it's actually an intentional fire. The kind that purifies, clarifies, and sustains you over time. Oakland is a historically revolutionary place full of changemakers who show up hard for their communities. And often, those same people are the last ones to take care of themselves.

This summer, Divya Balakrishnan's signature workshop series, Yoga Off The Mat, comes to Oakland for a two-hour live experience designed to change that. We'll move through asana and pranayama to build and direct heat, not to drain you but to fortify you. We'll dig into the philosophy as a living framework for the moment we're actually in. We'll journal, think out loud, and talk about what tapas looks like in the age of exhaustion and doomscrolling.

You'll leave with practical tools to show up for your community and collective liberation without running yourself into the ground.

See you there.

Date/time: June 6, 11am-1pm

Yoga Off The Mat: Spring Awakening

Join yoga teacher Divya Balakrishnan for an interactive, all levels workshop at Third Door in Brooklyn. This session is designed to support the energy of the spring equinox, a time to reset, begin again, and move forward with intention.

Over the course of two hours, you’ll be guided through āsana, prānāyāma, and meditation to help you clear out what feels stagnant and create space for what’s next. From there, we’ll move into a reflective and practical workshop about yoga philosophy. Discussion will be focused on building discipline, shaping supportive habits, and aligning your daily life with what you truly want to grow this season.

This is for anyone who feels ready to start fresh, but wants to do it in a way that feels grounded, sustainable, and real.

If you’ve practiced with Divya through her YouTube classes or Yoga Off The Mat Podcast, this is an opportunity to take that work deeper and experience it in community.

Afterward, we hang out, chat, and enjoy the space together. It’s easygoing, friendly, and open to everyone.

Yoga Club brings people together through movement and community.
We meet in beautiful spaces around the city to stretch, laugh, and connect.
It’s less about perfect poses and more about showing up for yourself — and for each other.
